Sony is at it again, with the unveiling of the Playstation Move on Wednesday afternoon, they are trying to take over the Wii market.
From the gathered information, the new Playstation Move is trying its hand at the motion controller which the Wii has perfected with the emergence of the wii motion plus. This new system will rival the Wii in many areas; however with a price of under $100 for a starter system, the Move may be more popular than critics think.
It comes as a shock to me that Playstation is making this move, not only because this is the first time a sony starter system is actually affordable to the average man, but because this type of system may seem to take away from the hard core gaming experience of the PS3. That is the one area that Playstation has made its name, the hard core gaming capabilities of a system with a motion controller are just not advanced enough yet.
I can understand the move to want to push into the market of the Wii, however I don’t think that this is going to be beneficial for Sony in the long run. The amount of people that already have the Wii is astonishing, and many of those people are not going to want to switch to another system with the same capabilities. Sony has made its name on far more advanced technologies and for many Sony followers this system may come as a childish approach to the video game industry. I don’t see this lasting…
